- More than 400 cost-shared pilot or demonstrative systems were installed, promoting awareness and catalyzing market growth of renewable energy technologies
- Local training and capacity building were an integral component of pilot system implementations (workshops, training, monitoring)
- Over 2,000 engineers, suppliers, users, and decision makers were trained in renewable energy technologies and applications
- More than 100,000 Mexicans benefited either directly or indirectly from the pilot system installations (based on USAID beneficiary guidelines)
- More than 50 renewable energy companies, both U.S. and Mexican, participated in the program
- Partner replication: more than 3,000 systems were installed by program partners implementing new programs, either replicating MREP successful projects, or new applications.
See graphs:
- Commercial replication: thousands of systems were purchased and installed via the private-sector, based on simple diffusion relating to program activities
- Program was integrated into the U.S./Mexico Bilateral Agreement for Energy Cooperation (Annex 1 - Renewable Energy)
